Dajia Wenchang Temple (Confucius Temple)
Wenchang Temple, known locally as Wenchang Palace, also known as Confucius Temple, is a designated third-level historic site. Wenchang Temple was built in the 13th year of Guangxu to worship Emperor Wenchang, Confucius and Han Yu. February 3rd of the lunar calendar every year is its sacrificial day.
Wenchang Temple currently has the Kongmenli Changchun Club borrowing the venue for gatherings and is responsible for managing and cleaning the environment inside and outside the temple. There are two pieces of "Character Balance" and "Civilization Atmosphere" in the temple as well as other cultural relics.
In the first year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, He Qinglin, a member of the Dajia Judiciary Committee, applied to build Wenchang Temple in Dajia due to local needs. There was a private school inside. In the early days, the old man was used to give lectures and it was also a gathering place for scholars. At that time, there was a bustling crowd and an endless stream of people. It is even more lively on the birthday of Confucius. Since the temple had no other income, it was difficult to renovate it. In addition, after the liberation, it was occupied by military families and divided into 13 rooms. This made things worse. It was later listed as a third-class historic site by the government, so it got a chance to be reborn. It is still there today. Under renovation. Since the main deity is Emperor Wenchang, people still go to worship before the exam season. There are five Wenchang statues enshrined inside: Emperor Wenheng, Zhu Shenyi, Emperor Wenchang, Emperor Qiaoyou and Lord Kui. There are also tablets for Confucius, Zhu Xi, Han Yu and other literary gods. The second one is to enter the Wenchang Temple to worship the God of Wenchang in order to preserve the text. A place of luck and education.
